Do you boil potatoes first for making roast potatoes?

If you are supposed to, how long should you boil them for?Do you boil potatoes first for making roast potatoes?
No ... would be fairly messy with all the cooked potato starch to deal with. Preheat oven to 350. Put olive (or vegetable) oil in a low-sided cookie sheet (enough to make sure the bottom is lubricated), put the potatoes in the pan and flip them around a bit to cover. Then, add your choice of seasonings. Put in the oven for a total of 45 minutes (less if potato pieces are smaller). You want to flip them once during cooking so you get even browning.Do you boil potatoes first for making roast potatoes?
I peel them, cut them in half, dip them in melted butter, place them on a cookie sheet and bake them until they are just about fork tender. Then I baste them again with butter, sprinkle with paprika and shredded parmesan cheese and bake until the cheese browns lightly.

If I'm cooking them in with my roast, I just put them - quartered, in with chopped carrots and quartered onions right along side of the roast.
The best way to roast potatoes in my opinion is in a foil pouch on the grill. You do not have to boil them first. Add seasoned salt, thyme, rosemary, garlic and REAL butter. Put a hole in the pouch and add the butter slowly through the cooking process. This will ensure the butter does not burn. Use olive oil instead if desired.
I dont I just chop them up and put some oil and seasoning on them and pop em in the oven.

I guess it may cut down on cooking time if you do tho. I wouldnt cook them for very long, just enough to barely soften them up.. 5 -10 minutes?
No. Add salt, pepper, sprinkle it w/ lemon, and then you can put it in the oven. Then it will be roasted!
no, just sprinkle with salt, pepper and some olive oil, maybe some rosemary and toss.....place on the sheet pan and roast at about 350......maybe for an 1/2 hour or more....
you can , but they won't brown as good, just put them around the roast, ladle the drippings over them.
How about a short video?
That or nuke them then it wont take them that long to roast them
I don't, they turn out pretty well.
