What is the ideal fabric to use when making a tulip skirt?

i am in LOVE with tulip skirts but i'm plus size and i cnt find any in my size so i was planning on doing a project runway type deal and make one myself...what would be the ideal fabric to use and where can i get it?What is the ideal fabric to use when making a tulip skirt?
usually silk

but if you are a plus size

the light reflecting might make you look bigger.

my suggestion would be cotton

it looks great, and lasts long.

hope this helps :)What is the ideal fabric to use when making a tulip skirt?
100% cotton is the best for versatile clothing and beginners.

get fabric at your nearest fabric store like dressew, fabricana, fabricland or even walmart.

by a pattern envelope to trace out patterns and follow instructions to make a simple skirt. some pattern catalogues include:

butterick

simplicity

vogue

mccalls

i personally like to go with mccalls. i like their styles. look on the online websites for the online pattern catalogue so you can pre browse before making your trip to the fabric store. i do suggest you follow a pattern envelope unless you are already skilled in sewing and you're can make one yourself.
aluminum foil
