How to cut a pomegranate without making a total mess?

I cut one and the seeds are stuck to this white layer and it's a b**** to separate! Anyone? How to cut a pomegranate without making a total mess?
Fill up a large glass bowl with enough water to cover the pom. Make some cuts in the pomegranate's skin, then plunge the thing into the bowl so you can break it up and separate the seeds from the pith underwater. This will not only keep it from getting messy, but the skin and pith will float while the seeds will sink, making it easier to get rid of the junk and separate out the parts you want.

To separate the seeds, just kind of gently rub them with your fingers underwater. They'll come apart. But it does take a little patience. How to cut a pomegranate without making a total mess?
Trim the blossom end and then make slits down the side to the bottom and peel it like a banana, I ama former chef and eat one a week and have found this to ne the fastest and cleanest way to eat one, you can tap the sections with the back of a spoon the extract the seeds, discard any memebrane.
